People will be appealed to install Ganesh idols made of clay : Jalgaon Mayor

Representation submitted to Mayor by Shri Kala Kendra

Jalgaon : On 4th August, Mayor Shri. Nitin Laddha was given representation on behalf of Shri Kala Kendra. He said, “Your drive is laudable and we too are interested in joining such eco-friendly drive. We shall make appeal to all residents to install idols made of clay. Last year, artificial water tanks resulted in desecration of Sri Ganesh idols. That decision was taken by the Commissioner; but we shall take care to see that such things wouldn’t happen in future.”

It has been stated in the representation that an appeal should be made to all citizens to prevent water pollution due to use of idols made of plaster of paris and to take active part in protection of environment. Even Prime Minister has made an appeal to install idols made of clay. Steps should be taken to prevent harm caused to environment by promoting use of idols made of clay.
