Ratnagiri (Maharashtra):
A drive to enlighten people on ideal manner of immersion of Sri Ganesh idols was undertaken by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on the sea-shore of Mandavi.

35 activists of HJS explained the science behind immersion of flowers etc. offered to Sri Ganesh so also displayed banners for the benefit of devotees. The HJS activists were standing on the sea-shore since 4.30 p.m. with banners in their hand. They made an appeal to the devotees to immerse the ‘nirmalya (stale flowers and leaves offered to the Deity)’; the devotees too reciprocated in positive manner.
