HJS takes help of ‘Ganesh Mandals’ to stop teachers advocating donation of Ganesh idols

Solapur (Maharashtra): Students from schools were used for anti-Dharma drive of donation of idols as per the verbal instructions by the education officer; but Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took strong objection and with the help of members of ‘Ganeshotsava Mandals’ stopped the drive. (It is only due to the grace of God that HJS could achieve success. Congratulations to all Hindus who participated in the lawful movement to stop anti-Dharma activity ! – Editor SP)

On Thursday, immersion of idols was going on at Siddheshwar Lake and Vishnu Ghat. The students from Saraswati Mandir Training School and Siddheshwar School were displaying boards making an appeal to the devotees to donate Sri Ganesha idols. The members of HJS informed the members of ‘Ganeshotsava Mandal’ about it. Many workers of Mandals gathered immediately and asked the teachers for explanation. They asked the teachers that on what basis the schools were interfering in religious matters of Hindus. The teachers informed that it was decided in a meeting held in the presence of District Collector and the education officer had given such instructions. Police Inspector (PI) Chandrakant Shinde and Dy. Education officer Mujawar reached the place of incident. The officer bearers of ‘Ganeshotsava Mandal’ demanded to register a complaint; but Mujawar giving the reason of education officer’s orders opposed to lodging of complaint. PI Shinde stated that it was wrong to make use of children in such movements.

Thereafter, teachers viz. Mukund Giri, Nagesh Jadhav, Gurusiddha Hortikar and Shivanand Hiremath were taken to police custody. When they were asked to show a copy of the order by education minister, the dy. education minister and Mujawar rendered apology to Hindus. The police warned them before releasing. Mr. Sunil Rasale, the Chairman of ‘Mahapalika Shikshan Samiti’ and the President of ‘Sree Madhyavarti Ganeshotsava Mandal’, Mr. Mallinath Yalgi, the President of Festival Committee, Mr. Das Shelke, the Founder of ‘Kshatriya Maratha Mahasangh’, Hema Chincholkar, former municipal councilor and members of HJS viz. Sanjay Salunkhe, Gangadhar Gavasane, Yashpal Wadkar etc. were present on the occasion. Similar thing was going on even at Dharmaveer Sambhaji Talao in the city which was also stopped by HJS members.
