Mumbai: Ganesha-devotees have to stand in queues for immersion of idols at Girgaum, Dadar, Mahim, Juhu etc. beaches. At some places, the immersion continues even on the following day; therefore, immerse the idols in nearby artificial water tanks. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) has advised its officers and coordinating committee to persuade ‘Ganesha Mandals’ through the booklet released on the occasion of Ganeshotsava titled ‘Ganeshotsava Mahiti Pustika 2010’(As per Hindu Dharma-shastra, the idols should be immersed in flowing water; but MMC appealing to immerse idols in unscientific manner, is in a way anti-Dharma only ! How can such administration protect our Dharma? – Editor SP)

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has been trying to prevent such ‘Dharma-drohi’ things by giving representations to the Administration again and again for the past 8 years; but MMC administration is firm on artificial water tanks. Devout Hindus are registering their protest on the following address against such anti-Dharma act of MMC.
