Don’t be misled by the claims made by so-called environmentalists; but celebrate ‘Ganeshotsava’ as per the Science – HJS

Satara (Maharashtra): The so-called environmentalists and intellectuals are claiming that immersion of Sri Ganesha idols cause pollution and making appeal to the people to donate idols and celebrate eco-friendly ‘Ganeshotsava’. It shows their intention to spread misinformation among the people, mislead the Administration and stop celebration of the festival. Hindus should not fall prey to such misconceptions and should celebrate Sri Ganesha festival as per the Science. The above appeal has been made by Mr. Rahul Kadam, the district-organiser of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a press conference held at ‘Hotel Radhika Palace’ on Friday, 3rd September. Mr. Govind Gandhi, the Maharashtra – Vice President of Hindu Mahasabha was also present.

To refute the claim of immersion causing pollution, Mr. Rahul Kadam said, “’Air Quality Management Cell’, and ‘Srushti Eco Lab’ Pune have given a report that immersion of Sri Ganesha idols does not cause water pollution. Many environmentalists from Mumbai and Pune have also proved that immersion of idols does not cause pollution. In fact, the eco-friendly’ idols are made from waste paper and similar things. When such idols are immersed in water, they emit Methane, a poisonous gas while disintegrating in water. This paper absorbs Oxygen and thus, pose danger for the aquatic animals. Ganapati is worshiped by all Hindus and it is denigration of the Deity to make idols from such waste. It seems that the so-called modern intellectuals and reformers have lost their senses to advocate use of idols made from such materials. Hindus should, however, learn the ‘Dharma-shastra’ and immerse idols in flowing water.”

Miscreants should be dealt with strictly for disturbing law and order situation

Mr. Govind Gandhi, Maharashtra – Vice President of Hindu Mahasabha said, “Last year, Ganeshotsava could not be celebrated with usual grandeur due to riots. The Government should take stringent action against those creating law and order problems. Hindus should organise programs to develop religious unity and celebrate the festival with enthusiasm.”
