Pro-Hindu organisations in Pune giving a ‘Call’ in Press Conference

The pollution caused by the Ganesh idols of plaster of Paris is negligible. On the contrary it has been proved by research, 2 years back that the ‘calcium phosphate’ in the idols purifies the water rather than polluting it. The organisations spreading false rumours and claiming that such immersion of idols cause pollution should make a study of the said research.

Considering this Mr. Sandip Joshi of ‘Srushti Eco Reseach Institute’ inspired the people making a call to them to immerse the Ganesh idols in the flowing water as per the scriptures (Shastra) stopping the malpractices in Ganesh festival. He was addressing a Press Conference organised by Hindutvawadi organisations in the auditorium of ‘Pune Patrakar Sangh’.

Mr. Sameer Nikam of ‘Mauli Pratishthan’ said, “We have witnessed the degradation caused by the Corporation while disposing off the idols after their immersion in a tank (haoud). No one claims the accountability for the same. Hence our emotions get hurt.” Mr. Vidyadhar Nargolkar of Swatantryaveer Savarkar Pratishthan’ said, “Since many years Hindu Jananjagruti Samiti (HJS) has proved that, no pollution is caused by the immersion of Ganesh idols. The government should take its cognisance.” Senior Advisor of ‘Urja Biotech’, Mr. Bhise said, “‘Gypsum’ content in ‘Plaster of Paris’ is being used for preparing fertiliser; hence the water gets purified due to the immersion of Ganesh idols instead.”

Mr. Sunil Dhanvat, co-ordinator of HJS for the Districts Pune, Nagar and Sambhaji Nagar said, “The organisations which are boasting of pollution being caused by the immersion of idols in water should give evidence to that effect. The Corporation should not do things like encouraging those who boast of pollution by giving a call to them, constructing a tank using public money, supplying the material for immersing idols. If the Corporation remains neutral then nobody’s feelings would get hurt.”  14 representatives of Newspapers and Media attended the conference.

Highlights

1. There was a protest against the Corporation for constructing a tank opposing the immersion of idols in flowing water, on behalf of Hindutvawadis
