To create awareness among students and public Hindu Janajagruti Samiti launched a national wide campaign aiming to prevent dishonor of national flag. They tried to do so by means of free lectures in various schools and also through posters and flex hoardings. More than 25 schools were covered in this campaign and thus could reach out to more than 21,000 students. Flex hoardings were displayed at crowded places and temples.

Through lectures the students were made aware of the sacrifice our freedom fighters, patriots have put in and thus made aware of their responsibility in protecting our motherland. To become good citizens you have to become a good individual; students were told the importance of personality development in this regard and how that helps to develop good virtues.

As per law using plastic flags, hoisting at lower level, making flag of non-specified dimensions is an offense. This fact was not known to most of the public. Many teachers and locals whole heartedly appreciated the endeavor of the Samiti and rendered their support.

This campaign was a part of the Nationwide campaign launched by HJS for respecting the National Flag and National Anthem. SMS messages and email messages were sent to hundreds of devout Hindus. Many patriots helped in this campaign, some financially and others by helping in spreading the message.

The reactions of some School Principals :

1. Mr. Devan Gopal, Principal, Saraswati Vidyamandir, Elamakkara appreciated the efforts being taken by HJS and suggested he will make an all out effort in spreading the message. The members of groups include many students and teachers.

During the lecture conducted in the school all the students who attended the lecture were very enthusiastic to spread the message to all their friends.
