Falgun Krushna Shashthi

Thane (Maharashtra): Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS)’ members were to undertake a drive for passing of anti-Superstitions Act at the earliest. Under this drive, the members were to write letters to the Government with their blood pressing their demand. But police did not grant permission to ANS campaign and the agitation was cancelled.

A representation was submitted to Thane city police station by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for cancellation of the dreadful program, of writing letters with blood, organized by ANS. Police informed HJS members that permission was refused and there was police vigilance in Tembhi Naka area where the agitation was to be held.

HJS to give representation for cancellation of agitation even in Mumbai

Similar agitation has been organized by ANS on 17th March at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. HJS members informed ‘Sanatan Prabhat’s reporter that it would be giving a representation to Azad Maidan police station for cancellation of the agitation.

HJS demands to stop dreadful drive started by ANS

Thane (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti  Samiti (HJS) has submitted a representation to Thane city police station demanding that Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS) should stop its dreadful drive of writing letters with blood. ANS has planned to hold a program, on Sunday, to write letters with blood. HJS has given a representation to stop the program.

It has been mentioned in the representation that the drive undertaken by ANS shows that whatever they are preaching, is not practiced by them. ANS tries to teach people whenever religious festival of Hindu approaches, e.g. for the ‘Holi’ festival, it preaches that instead of the food offering made to the fire lighted for ‘Holi’, the food should be offered to poor, instead of lighting lamps with ghee/ oil, that ghee/oil may be given to poor etc. Thus it tries to show that it has so much concern for the poor.

The proposed Bill for eradication of superstitions so much advocated by ANS is not being passed and therefore, ANIS has lost control over itself. It has started dreadful drive like writing of protest letter to the Government with blood. When it is necessary to offer food to the poor, don’t they need blood which is costlier than food? In doing such dreadful things, who will be responsible if its members fall sick? These bloodthirsty ANIS members should rather collect blood for the sick instead of wasting it in such manner.

When the matter is pending with the Joint Review Committee, ANIS is trying to unnecessarily bring pressure on them. During the period of implementation of Code of Conduct when the Government will be discussing only important matters in the 4 days session of Legislative Council, is it not futile on the part of ANIS to start such drives? Similar drive started by ANIS in Pune was foiled by Shiv Sena with their ‘Jode Maara (Hurl shoes)’ drive. HJS has, therefore, demanded in its representation that the Government should ask ANIS to stop such sickening and dreadful agitation.
