 Pune (Maharashtra) : 1st January  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had laid the foundation of independence by defeating Muslims and conquering forts one by one. However, these forts are now rendered into perverse shape due to the presence of drunkards. On 30th and 31st December, the activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti successfully executed the movement, like last year, to protect forts against the inappropriate practices carried out on 31st December by keeping strict vigil on 30th and 31st December this year. The local citizens stated that there was a reduction of 80% in the inappropriate practices this year.

An exhibition on the life of revolutionaries and ‘Horrific truth about Terrorism’ was organised at the foot of the fort by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Educative handbills were also distributed at the venue of the exhibition. Many visited the exhibition and the local citizens appreciated the programme undertaken by Samiti and expressed their willingness to participate in the activities of Samiti. The students from Zilla Parishad School(Gunjavani) also visited the exhibition. Mr. Ramesh Purohit, a school teacher said that the activity of Samiti is very inspiring.

Cooperation

To conduct above programme,a kind cooperation was received from H.B.P. Mohan Maharaj Shinde, Mr. Balasaheb Rasal,Mr. Rajaram Rasal, and Mr.Chandrakant Rasal. They arranged meals for the activists on both the days.

Check-post on behalf of ‘Abhinav Nirman Pratishthan’ !

A check-post was placed on the fort Rajgad on behalf of ‘Abhinav Nirman Pratishthan’. The activists of ‘Pratishthan’ were checking the luggage of tourists visiting the fort. Giving further information about this exercise, Mr. Abhjit Muley of ‘Pratishthan’ said, “We have seized 6 liquor bottles this year from the tourists and made only them to empty the bottles by throwing away the alcohol. Fifty packets of cigarettes were also seized.”

Inappropriate practices reduced by 80%

Due to strict vigil by ‘Abhinav Nirman Pratishthan’ and awareness created by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti caused an awakening in the public and as a result, there was an 80% drop in the number of tourists visiting the fort with an intention to carry out malpractices this year. This estimate was given by the activists.
