Khed (Maharashtra) : In a book-exhibition held in the town, a book titled ‘Hindu – jaganyatil samruddha Adgal (Hindu- a prosperous junk in life)’ authored by anti-Hindu Bhalchandra Nemade was kept on sale. The pro-Hindu organizations heard about the matter and they immediately opposed the sale of this book. They also asked the organizers to withdraw the book from exhibition and made them render apology; warning them that such books should not be kept in exhibitions. Mr. Sadanand Joshi, a book seller from Pune had organized a book-exhibition in which the above book by anti-Hindu Bhalachandra Nemade was kept on sale. When the devout Hindus learnt about it, they expressed intense anger. Within ten minutes, many devout Hindus gathered at the venue of the exhibition. Mr. Joshi was talking very rudely and in favour of the book to the devout Hindus. He said, “I am also a Hindu. Dharma is not denigrated by just reading a book. I sell ‘Dharmasindhu’ book also. I am only a seller. There are people who are my senior and I have to obey them. The listed books have to be bought. There are not many copies of Nemade’s book. I have only two copies. I have nothing to do with Hindus. Since there is no ban on this book, I can sell it.” (Would Joshi dare to say such things to Muslims? And in case, he had, one can imagine what would have been his condition and that of his exhibition. – Editor SP) The devout Hindus then informed Police Inspector Ghadage from Khed. He advised Joshi to remove the book from sale considering the sentiments of people and admonished him for talking rudely. On this Joshi said, “I am M.A. with Philosophy. I have studied ‘Veda-mantras’ and can recite ‘mantras’.” The devout Hindus asked him to forget about the degree and remove the book from the exhibition. Thereafter, Joshi rendered apology and promised that such books would not be kept for sale.

Many workers and office-bearers from different pro-Hindu organizations like BJP, Hinduraj Mitramandal, Shiv Sena, Aniruddha bapu Sect, Hindu Ekta Andolan, Shiva-pratishthan, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and others were present on the occasion.
