Nothing new has been found in investigations in Miraj riots, inform Police officers

Mumbai : NCP’s MLA Jitendra Awhad made allegations against Pujya Sambhajirao Bhide Guruji, the founder of Shri. Shiva-pratishthan, being the mastermind of Miraj riots. The then Superintendent of Police investigating into riots and present Dy. Inspector General of Police (IGP) at Pune (CID) as also the present Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjay Fulari were contacted in this connection; but both of them informed that nothing new was found in the investigations. This has exposed Awhad’s falsehood and proves that he made such statements only to gain cheap publicity and out of his hatred for other communities. (Democracy which creates such leaders, who are spreading communal disharmony through disgraceful criticism against a revered personality, is therefore, of no use. 1. Dy. IGP Krushna Prakash said, “I have no idea about the status of investigations into Miraj riots; therefore, I cannot say anything in the matter. I had arrested Mainuddin Bagwan on the basis of proofs I could obtain and all the related information is put on record. If you want to know about that case, you can ask the present SP.”
2. SP Sanjay Fulari said, “Nothing new has been found in Miraj riot’s case.”

Satara (Maharashtra) : It is expected of police department and judicial system to find out and book the mastermind behind Sangli riots. Referring to someone as mastermind without any proofs is being impetuous and playing mischief only to get cheap publicity. Shiva-pratishthan’s Pujya Sambhajirao Bhide Guruji is revered by us. His insult or false allegations against him will not be tolerated in future, was the warning given by NCP’s MP Udayanraje Bhosale from Satara and a descendent of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj; through a press release.
Allegations against Pujya Sambhajirao Bhide (Guruji) and following ruckus was very unfortunate and such incidents creating rift between castes and creeds are very painful. It is unlawful to refer to Pujya Bhide (Guruji) or anyone for that matter or declaring someone as a rioter on stage or through public platform. We will not tolerate such thing in future for social harmony. Every organization should fix propagation of its goals but should consciously avoid unrestrained allegations against other organizations or insulting other castes and sects; then only these organizations will have a place in society. Awhad said that his name was not mentioned anywhere in the press release and tried to get out of the situation.

Sangli police files complaint against NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad

Meanwhile, a partial shut down (bandh) was observed today to protest against Awhad who had allegedly made insulting remarks against Sambajirao Bhide, the founder of the Shivapratisthan organisation, the police official said.
The shut down was called by the Sambhaji Brigade, the Maratha Sewa Sangh and the Samata Parishad on Sunday evening. Shivapratisthan activists also organised a protest rally in Sangli city today.
