DGP Alok Mohan orders immediate action

Bengaluru – A memorandum was submitted by the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti to the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DGP & IGP) of Karnataka State, Honourable Alok Mohan, urging that the law be applied equally and without any discrimination in all cases involving hurt to religious sentiments, and that swift and impartial action be taken in registered cases.
The committee’s memorandum highlights that during a programme held in Harihar, Davangere district, on 9 June 2026, statements made by Prof. K. S. Bhagavan regarding Prabhu Shri Ram and revered Hindu Deities hurt the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus. It stated that although protests were held across various parts of the state and complaints were registered in several police stations, including the Harihar Rural Police Station, no effective legal action has been taken so far.
A delegation led by the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti will submit a memorandum to the Karnataka DGP on 8 July, demanding equal application of the law in the cases involving Punit Kerehalli and Prof. K. S. Bhagawan.

Similarly, the committee drew attention to the fact that despite a complaint being filed at the Shankarapuram Police Station regarding statements made by Aryavardhan Guruji about Goddess Shri Mahalakshmi, no action has been taken to date.
On the other hand, citing another case where the police acted swiftly immediately after a complaint was filed, the committee demanded that equality before the law and equal protection of the law must be ensured in all cases, in accordance with the spirit of Article 14 of the Constitution of India.

Similarly, he instructed the Bengaluru Rural District Superintendent of Police over the phone to take necessary legal action regarding the case registered against Aryavardhan Guruji.
Welcoming the DGP’s prompt response, the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti demanded that uniform, transparent, and impartial legal action must be taken without any discrimination, delay, or bias in all cases that hurt religious sentiments.
