Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti demands removal of unauthorised religious banners from Ratnagiri District Hospital

Ratnagiri, Maharashtra – The Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti has issued a warning that the unauthorised banners put up by certain Muslim organisations on the buildings of the Ratnagiri District Government Hospital should be removed immediately, and action should be taken against those responsible. Otherwise, a large-scale agitation will be launched, and the District Government Hospital administration will be held accountable for the situation.

This representation was submitted to Dr Jayprakash Ramanand, Dean of the Government Medical College and District General Hospital, Ratnagiri. Copies were also handed over to the Resident Deputy Collector, Chandrakant Suryavanshi, and the Superintendent of Police, Nitin Bagate.
The representation was presented by Sanjay Joshi, Prabhakar Khanvilkar, Ganpat Nivlkar, Chhaganlal Chauhan, Sanjay Pawaskar, Babu Pawar, Govind Bhardwaj, and others from the Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti.
The representation states:
- The District Government Hospital is a public hospital serving patients of all religions. According to government regulations and the secular principles of the Indian Constitution, no banners promoting a specific religion or related to religious activities are permitted in any government office or hospital premises.
- Despite this, banners with messages such as “Iftari ka Intezaam” (Arrangements for Iftari) and “Sehri ka Intezaam kiya jayega” (Sehri arrangements will be made) have been put up on the hospital premises and building walls.
- These banners appear to have been deliberately placed by the Young Memon Foundation and Armaan Group, which could create religious tension.
- Therefore, these banners which are of a specifically religious nature should be removed immediately, and action should be taken against those who put them up. Additionally, the relevant hospital staff and officials who fail to act on this should also be suspended.
Dean Dr Jayprakash Ramanand said, “Putting up such banners is inappropriate. They have been put up unauthorised without prior permission, and orders are being issued to remove them.”
“Unauthorised banners will be removed, and action will be taken against those responsible,” assured Resident Deputy Collector Chandrakant Suryavanshi.
