Panun Kashmir national webinar: A collective vow to unite the Kashmiri Hindu community

New Delhi – ‘Panun Kashmir’, an organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus, recently organised a national online seminar (webinar). Prominent leaders of the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community living in various parts of the country participated in the event. Leaders joined from locations including Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, and Mumbai. Members reached a consensus on two vital aspects: preserving the existence of Kashmiri Hindus and keeping the community organised as the original inhabitants of the Valley.

The seminar was attended by Utpal Kaul, Virendra Raina, Anupam Kaul, Upinder Swarup, Upinder Kaul, Kamal Bagti, Vijay Handu, Rajinder Kaul, Pradeep Handu, and R.K. Dhar, among other dignitaries. Senior BJP leader Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, himself a Kashmiri Hindu, was present as a special guest and speaker.

Decisions taken during the seminar

  •  A decision was made to follow up with the Government of India regarding an increase in financial assistance for displaced Hindus.
  • It was proposed that providing jobs for Kashmiri Hindu youth in 2026 should be a primary objective for the Government. This demand will be formally presented.
  • Although Article 370, which gave Kashmir special status, has been repealed, no concrete measures have yet been implemented for the actual rehabilitation of Kashmiri Hindus in the Valley. The participants asserted that there is no question of compromising with those who committed ethnic cleansing and genocide. Kashmiri Hindus will neither forget nor forgive the atrocities committed against them. A call was made to establish a ‘Special Crimes Tribunal’ to prosecute the acts of genocide against the Hindu community in Kashmir.
