Violence and sports cannot coexist: Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Shah Rukh Khan’s conduct is unforgivable!

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti demands a complete ban on players from Bangladesh. Just as the Government of India had earlier adopted the stand that “water and blood cannot flow together” in relation to Pakistan, the same stand must now be taken with Bangladesh as well. Ignoring the brutal atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh and rolling out the red carpet for Bangladeshi players on Indian soil is totally unacceptable.

All IPL team owners should have taken a stand in tune with this national sentiment; however, only after the decision of the BCCI was Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman excluded.

The Government of India must convey a clear message to Bangladesh that “violence and sports cannot coexist.” Allowing even a single player from Pakistan or Bangladesh to play on Indian soil would be akin to rubbing salt into the wounds of Hindus. Therefore, a complete ban must be imposed on players from these countries.

HJS has already submitted representations to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister, and the President of the BCCI, demanding that Bangladeshi and Pakistani players should not be allowed to play in India. A few days ago, HJS had demanded that Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman be dropped from the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Today, the BCCI has taken a stand on this issue. While we welcome the BCCI’s position, this stand should have been taken first and foremost by the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders; however, Shah Rukh Khan did not take such a stand on his own. It is condemnable that his team and commercial interests matter more to him than the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh. Encouraging Bangladeshi players amounts to indirectly supporting the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Hence, we strongly condemn Shah Rukh Khan and demand that he publicly apologise to the nation.

In addition to the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators have led to law and order issues in India, with a surge in criminal activities such as human trafficking, drug rackets, and prostitution. Bangladeshi infiltrators should be identified and deported back to their country.
