Panaji (Goa) – A delegation from the ‘Ranragini’ wing of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) met with Goa’s Social Welfare Minister, Shri. Subhash Phal Dessai, to submit a memorandum demanding the immediate implementation of an anti-love jihad law in the state. During the meeting, Shri. Phal Dessai described love jihad as an ‘extremely distorted trend’ that is gradually spreading its roots in Goa. “We harbour no malice towards any religion; every individual has the right to respect their own faith,” he stated. “However, we strongly oppose any planned conspiracy against another religion where girls are lured, exploited, and murdered. We support public awareness initiatives to ensure such incidents do not occur in the state.”

The delegation on this occasion included Mrs. Shaila Desai of Ranragini, Shri. Govind Lolyekar of the HJS, and pro-Hindu activists Shri. Subhash Kharade and Shri. Laxman Kerkar.

This meeting follows similar representations made by the HJS to several high-profile officials, including Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuyekar, and Maem MLA Premendra Shet. Meetings with other ministers and legislators regarding this matter are currently ongoing.

The memorandum highlights various incidents within Goa and puts forward several key demands:

  • The immediate execution of those responsible for the murders of Sakshi, Anuradha, Shraddha Walkar, and other Hindu women.
  • The formation of an independent inquiry committee by the Home Department to investigate potential conspiracies behind the disappearance of women and girls in the state.
  • The establishment of a special police wing, on the lines of the Uttar Pradesh government, to investigate and take action in Love Jihad cases.

Public representatives have reportedly responded positively to these proposals, with further meetings scheduled with other ministers and legislators.
