Varanasi – In Varanasi, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, along with other Hindu organisations, strongly condemned the brutal killing of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in the Mymensingh region of Bangladesh, and the continuing attacks on Hindu homes, shops, and temples in Bangladesh.

Hindu organisations demanded that economic and political sanctions be imposed on Bangladesh and strict military action be taken against terrorist and extremist groups operating there

A memorandum outlining these demands, addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Bangladesh High Commissioner, was submitted through Sub-Divisional Officer Shri. Alok Verma (Varanasi), Sub-Divisional Officer Smt. Pratibha Mishra (Pindra Tehsil), and Joint Magistrate Shri. Rameshwar Sudhakar (Saidpur).

The memorandum stated that organised violence against Hindus has intensified in Bangladesh, with Hindu homes, shops, and temples being deliberately targeted. It further raised concern over the systematic elimination of Hindus, who now constitute only 7–8 per cent of Bangladesh’s population, down from 28 per cent in 1941.

It also called for international intervention through forums such as the United Nations and human-rights bodies, protection of religious freedom for Hindu minorities through India–Bangladesh agreements, and the formulation of a humanitarian rehabilitation and citizenship policy for Hindus forced to flee Bangladesh due to sustained violence and persecution.

Dhanbad (Jharkhand) – Protests were held in Dhanbad against the brutal killing of a Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das, in the Mymensingh region of Bangladesh, and against the continuing, targeted violence directed at the Hindu community there. Dipu Chandra Das was beaten to death by religious fanatics, after which his body was tied to a tree and set on fire.

In response to this killing and to the systematic attacks on Hindu homes, shops, and religious places in Bangladesh, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, along with other Hindu organisations, held demonstrations in Jharkhand. Condemning the anti-Hindu violence in the strongest terms, protesters gathered at Randhir Verma Chowk in Dhanbad to demand accountability and immediate action.

Following the protest, a memorandum was submitted through Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Shri. Aditya Ranjan, addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the High Commission of Bangladesh in India. The memorandum called for decisive diplomatic intervention to stop the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and to ensure justice for the victims.

They warned that continued inaction would embolden further violence and demanded that the issue be taken up at the highest diplomatic and international levels.
