Shrikshetra Sajjangad enforces strict dress code

Satara, Maharashtra : At Shrikshetra Sajjangad, the revered site where the samadhi of Rashtrasant Samarth Ramdas Swami and the Shri Ram temple are located within the same sacred complex, a strict dress code has now been enforced for all visitors. The Sansthan has stated that this decision is essential to protect the sanctity of the religious tradition and to maintain the sattvic and dignified atmosphere of the premises, informed Pujya Bhushan Swami, President and Trustee of the Shri Ramdas Swami Sansthan.

Growing footfall and the need to preserve sanctity

Sajjangad, the principal centre of the Samarth tradition, receives lakhs of devotees every year. In recent months, the Sansthan had been receiving frequent complaints that some visitors were arriving in attire inappropriate for the sacred environment, and were using the premises for photo-shoots and video recordings. Taking cognisance of these concerns, the Sansthan has implemented new regulations prohibiting tight or ‘stylish’ apparel for all visitors.

What constitutes ‘stylish’ clothing?

For women : Short pants, short dresses, sleeveless garments, excessively tight or body-revealing clothing;

For men : Shorts or trousers above knee-length, or excessively tight clothing.

Visitors arriving in such attire will not be permitted entry to the gad.
