Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh meet at Shri Chandikadevi Sansthan, Kurankhed
Akola : Many temples are being deprived of religious traditions that have been followed for centuries, temple property is being embezzled, temple lands are being encroached upon, and efforts are not being made to maintain the sanctity of temples due to the temples being under government control. The consequences of not educating the people about Sanatan Dharma are visible everywhere. If this education is imparted from Hindu temples, people with Dharmik inclinations will be able to manage temples in an ideal manner. Temples should be the centres that propagate Sanatan Dharma, asserted Shrikant Pisolkar, Vidarbha Coordinator of Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. He was addressing a meeting of temple trustees organised by Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh, Akola at the famous Shri Chandikadevi Sansthan in the district.
More than 300 temple trustees from Akola were present at the program. The program began with offering a garland to Shri Chandikadevi. At the beginning of the program, H.B.P. Gopal Maharaj Deore, who conducts a 1-month residential Bal Sanskar camp for 250 to 350 children every year in the temple, was felicitated by Mr Prashant Deshmukh, the temple president, with a shawl and a shriphal.
Advocate Mukund Jalnekar, Mr Pramod Agnihotri spoke on the occasion. Messrs Subhash Deshmukh, Dinkar Thackeray, Kanjarkar and other temple trustees also expressed their views.

Unpleasant incidents are happening in connection with temples because Hindus are not organised. If, as ‘temple trustees’, we organise a mass aarti in the temple once a week, and also give every family in the village the precedence of offering the aarti in the temple sactorum, then the devotees of the village can be well organised.

Mr Prashant Deshmukh and I attended the state-level conference held by the Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh at Shrikshetra Shirdi last year. That is where I got the inspiration to further the work of the Mahasangh in our area. With the same inspiration, a district-level temple conference was organised on March 28 at Swayambhu Mahadev Temple. 400 temple trustees attended it.
