NCERT Book controversy

Dombivali (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) staged demonstrations at 6.30 p.m. in Indira Gandhi Chowk against this anti-Shivaji policy of the Government. HJS demanded withdrawal of NCERT's HIstory Textbook.

HJS submitted memorandum to Tehsildar requesting, the History curriculum set by NCERT giving extra emphasis on the history of Mughal invasions and giving the life history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in just a few lines should be changed immediately.

Hamare Atit -2’, the text book on History set for VIIth standard by NCERT has dedicated only 5 lines for the life history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. HJS staged demonstrations in Maharashtra against such an insult of Shivaji Maharaj.

Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra): A representation signed by about 1000 people with a demand to change the syllabus of History subject for 7th standard in NCERT books was submitted by HJS to Upper District Collector.

Panaji (Goa): The Goa State Government finally changed the History text book set by NCERT for VII standard. The portion narrating the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been increased from 5 lines to 5 pages. This is success of efforts of HJS.

HJS members submit a representation to the Deputy District Collector against NCERT at Gurgaon (Haryana). This was regarding the NCERT textbook contents focusing more on the Mughal history than the Indian history.

Bhagyanagar (Andhra Pradesh): Recently HJS staged demonstrations at the famous Nehru Chowk against NCERT's controversial History textbooks.

Vizag (Andhra Pradesh): The activists of HJS along with VHP,Hindu Jagran Manch and the seekers of Sanatan sanstha agitated in front of District collectorate, against controversial NCERT History Textbooks.

HJS has demanded that Central Govt. should remove the distorted history presented in NCERT textbooks. Samiti after successful campaigns in Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka now launched the campaign in Andhra Pradesh.

Bangalore (Karnataka): HJS Bangalore unit organized the first of the debate in Bangalore to recommend improvements in NCERT history books and teach accurate History to children. Noted Historians and Scholars were present for debate.

Navalgund (Karnataka): Participation of Hundreds of self spirited Hindu Dharmabhimani students to protest against the Attacks on Innocent Hindu Students in Australia and to remove the syllabus of distorted history by NCERT.

Recently HJS submitted memorandum to Chief Minister of Karnataka to take proper action against controversial NCERT History textbooks. Now CM office has assured HJS to take proper action against NCERT textbook.

HJS protested against NCERT's controversial Textbooks in Karnataka at various locations like Shimoga, Bangalore & other places. Popular newspaper in Shimoga, 'Navika' covered its news on its front page.

Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Shiv Sena blocked the highway to register protest against NCERT for distortion of history in the text book set for 7th standard which distorts the History about Hindu & National Icons.
