Since the last 60 years, Gogate-Joglekar College organises Kalidas lecture series. To ensure that the students choose ‘Sanskrut’ as a subject during admission in college. ‘Ratnagiri Education Society’ encourages the students in Secondary schools to develop interest in the language. For this, Stotras (Sanskrut hymns) relating to various subjects are taught to them.
In order to train teachers for teaching Sanskrut, the college has started undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sanskrut. In the college, dramas written in Sanskrut are presented. Recently, there was a workshop organised in Sanskrut on the topic, ‘Ramayana’. The students of this college also have a Sanskrut orchestra which performs throughout Maharashtra.
