Parli Vaijnath

One of the twelve jyotirlinga's in India, Parli Vaijnath is a sacred place. Queen Ahilyabai Holkar renovated this temple. The magnificient temple is constructed out of huge stones. Long staircases in the temple premises and a grand entrance door fascinate the visitors. The temple garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) and the assembly hall are located on the same elevation, hence the jyotirlinga can be seen from the assembly hall itself.

Except Vaijnath, nowhere can one touch the shiv linga while worshipping. There are three large tanks (kund) in the temple premises.

About 3 km from the temple, on the banks of River Brahmanadi there is Someshwar temple in Jirewadi located at an altitude of 300 feet. The Yogeshwari temple of Ambejogayi is nearby. Parli Vaijanath which is located in Beed district is about 24km from Ambejogayi and 61km from Parbhani. It is well connected by roads. A Thermal power station is also located close to Parli.
