Etiquettes for meals

1.Clean the place and the utensils used for meals.

2.Wash your hands, feet and face before taking meals.

3.Instead of sitting on dinning table or directly on the floor, take a carpet or wooden plank to sit.

4.Before you start eating, recite this shloka :

vadani kaval gheta naam ghya shri-hariche l
sahaj havan hote naam gheta phukache l
jivan kari jivitva anna he purn-brahma l
udar-bharan nohe janije yadnya-karma ll 1 ll

वदनि कवळ घेता नाम घ्या श्रीहरीचे ।
सहज हवन होते नाम घेता फुकाचे ।
जिवन करि जिवित्वा अन्न हे पूर्णब्रह्म ।
उदरभरण नोहे जाणिजे यज्ञकर्म ॥१॥

ati aadare gadya-ghoshe mhanave l
harichintane anna sevit jaave l
tari srihari pavijeto swabhave ll 2 ll

जनीं भोजनी नाम वाचे वदावे ।
अती आदरे गद्यघोषे म्हणावे ।
हरीचिंतने अन्न सेवित जावे ।
तरी श्रीहरी पाविजेतो स्वभावे ॥२॥

5.Food should not be trodden under feet. To avoid this collect the food particles spilled around the eating plate after the meals.
