‘Dainik Loksatta’ supports denigration of Lord Ganesh in its supplement

In the ‘Bal-rang’ supplement of Loksatta, Sri Ganesh has been shown like a schoolboy wearing uniform as also in form of vegetables. Denigration of Lord Ganesh through drawing competition

On the occasion of Ganesh festival, a competition of drawing Sri Ganesh’s pictures was organized for school children on behalf of ‘Dainik Samna’ and ‘Sundaram’ a company manufacturing notebooks. Pictures drawn by the winners were published in the supplement ‘Utsav’ of the Dainik Samana’s issue dated 3rd September, on page 8. It has been observed that out of the 10 pictures published in the paper, in 7 pictures, there was denigration of Lord Ganesh. Students studying in 3rd to 10th standards made the drawings. It has been mentioned that Shri. Dattatreya Raul, President of ‘Bruhan Mumbai Kaladhyapak Sangh’ and Shri. Arun Khadye, a commercial artist were the judges of the competition.

Mockery of Sri Ganesh continuous through advertisements

During the Ganesh festival, many companies manufacturing consumer products are publishing advertisements to attract buyers. The advertisements, however, make a mockery of Sri Ganesh. Every year such advertisements ridiculing Sri Ganesh are published and HJS in co-operation with Sanatan keeps on protesting but due to the attitude of indifference by Hindus, such mockery will go on. Hindus should follow up such matters and make the advertisers change advertisements, only then the situation will change.

Denigration of Lord Ganesh Idols : Officer apologize at HJS

The matter related to immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in the artificial ponds near Upavan lake in Thane and desecration of the idols while carrying out re-immersion was brought to light by the Hindu Jana-jagruti Samiti. In this context, the Area officer at Vartaknagar invited a delegation of HJS for discussions and rendered his apologies. He also assured the members of HJS that henceforth such mistake will not be committed.

Court orders probe into Hussain’s paintings

A city court today directed Delhi police to investigate a complaint filed against noted painter M F Hussain for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by painting “obscene pictures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses”.
