Police fails in prevention cow-slaughter and to close illegal slaughter-houses

It is necessary to find out the reason for helplessness of police machinery despite existing Act banning cow-slaughter

Sangamner (Dist. Nagar) : Law banning cow-slaughter has been passed in Maharashtra; still it is not stringently implemented. The condition is more severe at Sangamner. Here, police take action against unauthorized slaughter houses every week or once in a week; but despite taking action, such slaughter –houses are again openly operated. (If police fail in keeping curb over criminals, their senior officers should keep watch and take necessary action. If offenders outwit police, how will police be able to maintain law and order ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

1. During the action taken by city police, thousands of kgs of meat has been confiscated so far and hundreds of animals have been taken into custody.

2. Cases have been filed against many people in this connection and many persons have been banished from the city.

3. Animals are bought from farmers at very low price and such animals are killed and meat is sent to different parts of the State.

4. In villages like Ashavi, Sakur, Bota, Ghargon etc, animals are slaughtered on the bazar-day and on Sundays and meat is sold.

5. Police take some ineffective action and release the culprits taking care of their own selfish interests which is said to be the reason for non-closure of unauthorized slaughter-houses on permanent basis. (Had police, who waste their energy to create obstacles in lawful agitations staged by ‘Hindutvavadis’,  taken action against unauthorized slaughter-houses with full strength in the beginning, there would have been no need to take action again and again. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
