Maharashtra Govt. more concerned about Aurangzeb than Sambhaji Maharaj

Mumbai: Maharashtra Government’s printing press has so far published hundreds of books; but among them, there is not a single book specially pertaining to the life history of Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje. There are however, books like ‘History of Aurangzeb’ containing 1020 pages for only Rs. 49/- (the price quoted in the year 1999), a book titled ‘History of Shahjehan from Delhi’ by Dr. B. P. Saxena for only Rs. 60/- with 472 pages and ‘Samrat Akbar’ by R. M. Gole having 493 pages for Rs.56/-. This indicates that the Muslim Congress Government has problem with the life history of the ‘Dharmaveer’ and it prefers Aurangzeb. The above information has come forward just before the birth anniversary of Sambhaji Maharaj falling on 23rd June creating furor among devout Hindus.

Thousands of rupees spent for Aurangzeb and no single dime for Sambhaji Raje

A list of books has been displayed of books available till the year 1999 on the website of the Government. It has also come to the notice on making enquiry about books on Sambhaji Raje with the regional Government book store at Kolhapur. The Government allocates about Rs. 25 to 30 lakhs for publishing of these books. With such grant by the Government, the books are made available to the people at very low price. This means that the Government has so far spent millions of rupees on the books related to cruel Aurangzeb; but not a single rupee for people to know the life history of Sambhaji Raje by publishing a book on him.

Books on invaders translated in Marathi

Many scholars, historians and Bharatacharya Prof. S.G. Shevade have undertaken research on the life history of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje. The Government can sponsor any of the books authored by him. But rather than doing that, the Government has got the books like book on Shahjehan or book by M. R. Baig on ‘History of Indian Muslims’ translated in Marathi. The Government has also published books like ‘Cybil’, a book telling true story of a mentally affected U. S. girl, book giving information about Nobel Prize winners (out of which only Rabindranath Tagore was an Indian), books by Greek philosophers, few Japanese, book titled ‘Social form of Islam’, ‘Decline of Mughal Empire’ etc. which are not much related to Maharashtra.
