Sangamner : 47 cattle released, 400 kg beef confiscated during raid on slaughter-house

Total failure in implementation of Law banning cow-slaughter ! It shows that just passing Act is not enough but police machinery should also be competent for its stringent implementation ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat

Nagar : Police raided a slaughter-house at Bharatnagar in Sangamner on 6th January and released 47 cattle and confiscated 400 kgs of beef. Three persons have been arrested in this connection but fanatic Nawaz Qureshi who runs the slaughter-house is absconding. The cattle released during the raid, have been sent to animal-husbandry in Kanhe ghat whereas the confiscated beef has been destroyed. Police took such action on the basis of information given by office bearers of ‘Peoples for Animal and Animal Welfare Board of India’. (Why couldn’t police nab the main culprit although information was received in advance ? It creates doubt about duties performed by police ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

Police Inspector (PI) Govind Omase, Dy. PI Chhabildas Gawande and their staff took part in this activity. It shows that despite Act has been passed banning cow-slaughter in the State; cattle are being slaughtered openly in slaughter-houses. (If office bearers of an organization could notice such things, why police do not observe them despite having all the machinery at their disposal ? Or do they take bribe and overlook such illegal acts ? Why should people pay tax and provide for police and administration if they are not capable of keeping watch on such large scale slaughtering of cows and cattle ? Inquiry should be conducted even into police and action should be taken ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

This slaughter-house was run in illegal manner. Officer-bearers of ‘Peoples for Animal and Animal Welfare Board of India’ had gone to Sangamner and had inspected the slaughter-house. Shri. Chetan Sharma of this organization informed District Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dr. Tripathi of Nagar about slaughtering of cows. He instructed dy. Zonal police officer Dr. Ajay Devare of Sangamner and the above action was taken.
