India is the only country where anti-nationals like Farooq Abdullah can become chief minister of a state ! Will Indian government take strong action against Farooq Abdullah for insulting nation using foul language ? – Editor, Hindujagruti
Srinagar : Former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir Farooq Abdullah while delivering a controversial statement on Friday rebuked the Indian government and reminded that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) was not India’s personal property that could be inherited.
He strongly questioned India’s claim over PoK and said that it was not India’s parental property. Abdullah was quoted as saying by News 18 website, “Kya yeh tumhare baap ka hai (Is this your father’s property)?”
Abdullah’s comment came while he was addressing a function in the Chenab Valley where his son Omar was also present. His statement was in reference to the Parliament’s standing resolution on PoK. The former J&K CM was quoted as saying, “PoK is presently under Pakistan occupation. It is not personal property of India so that it could make a claim over it like an inherited property for forefathers,”
“Pakistan is one of the stakeholders (of the Kashmir issue) which even the government of India has accepted,” he said, adding that the government will have no option but to start talks with Pakistan so that the “atrocities through which people of Jammu and Kashmir are undergoing will come to an end.”
Abdullah had said on Wednesday that giving autonomy to both J&K and PoK was the only solution to end the almost seven-decade problem between India and Pakistan. Earlier on Sunday, Farooq Abdullah had stressed upon the need for India and Pakistan to engage in bilateral talks owing to continuous disturbances between the two neighbours.
