High speeding truck transporting cattle crushes 3 persons at Amravati

Bajarang Dal tries to stop the truck; it topples, rams into 10 vehicles : 25 people injured, few cows die

  • Passing law banning cow-slaughter is not enough and cow-slaughter will not stop till the law is not stringently implemented !
  • Protectors of cows can notice transportation of cattle; but police don’t see such things ! If people accuse police of being either incompetent or taking bribes and allowing cow-trafficking, will it be wrong ?
‘Hindutvavadis’ handing over representation to Police Commissioner Dattatreya Mandalik

Amravati : Activists of Bajarang Dal tried to stop a truck illegally transporting cattle to Chandurbazar from the district but the truck-driver increased speed of the truck and dashed 10 vehicles on the way leading to death of 3 persons including a child and injuring 25 people. It was also observed that few cows had died in that truck. Few ‘Hindutvavadis’ learnt about the serious incident and they promptly met the district collector at 11.00 p.m. so also met an injured person. Then, on 21st July, all pro-Hindu organizations from Amravati got together and submitted a representation to the District Collector and Police Commissioner.

A copy of the representation has also been sent to the State’s Chief Minister, Home Minister, Home (State) Minister and Guardian Minister. There was positive response from Police Commissioner Dattatreya Mandalik towards ‘Hindutvavadis’. He said that he had instructed police administration to carry out combing operation for finding places where illegal cow-slaughtering has been going on. He told ‘Hindutvavadis’ to take police to such places in case they had knowledge about the same and help police to go to the roots of this problem.

Demands made by ‘Hindutvavadis’ through the representation

1. The Truck-driver should be given death sentence.

2. Besides, the truck-driver, even the owner of the truck-driver should be promptly arrested.

3. The Government should bear the cost of treatment of all injured persons.

4. Police officers, who delay taking action in this case, should be suspended.
