There was a row over saffron flags flown on mosques at Dharur

On the main road at Dharur (Beed district), there was a fight between groups of Hindus and Muslims as some unknown person had mounted saffron flags on the windows of mosques. Both the groups were hurling stones at each other. Police had to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.

The District Collector issued an order against people’s assembly. To reduce the tension created due to this incident, members of various parties took out a peace march. 18 persons have been arrested in this connection.
