Kudal (Maharashtra): ‘Considering the law and order situation in view of curently tense atmosphere because of terrorist attacks on Mumbai, ‘The Babri Masjid Day’ on 6th December and Muslim festival of Bakri Idd falling on 9th December, we refuse permission for your Namdindi programme which is planned on 5th December. You will be permitted to take out Namdindi if you apply after 15 days’. This was the gist of letter received from the Sindhudurga District SP office by Sanatan Sanstha.
(The police administration of Sindhudurga District is well aware of the fact that uptill now all the Namdindis by Sanatan Sanstha have been taken out in the constitutional and peaceful manner. Inspite of this refusing permission for Namdindi by forwarding such reasons as terrorist attacks, babri masjid day and Bakri idd etc. is an deliberate attempt to interfere in the work for Dharma! Such an interference is never heard of in connection with Muslim programmes! – Editor)
The Namdindi was planned to be taken out on the route starting from Rawalnath Mandir to Collector’s Office as a protest against the proposed ban on Sanatan and other Pro-Hindu organisations. A application was submitted to Oros Police station on 27th November for getting official permission for the Namdindi. The concerned sadhaks of Sanatan were asked to see Inspector Shri. Anilkumar Jadhav in this regard. When the sadhaks met Shri. Jadhav, he inturn directed them to meet Dr. Ravindra Shisve, Disrict SP. When Dr Shisve was contacted yesterday evening,he refused them permission citing the reason of tense atmosphere due to terrorist attack on Mumbai. He however assured them permission after 15 days. Later when the seekers met Shri. Jadhav and requested him to give in writing the reason for refusal to Namdindi, he handed over the letter with contents mentioned above in the name of Sanatan Sanstha, Sindhudurg.
