Establishment of the \"Sindhudurg Christian Segment\" : Conversion Ritual of Mahaguru on 5th October 2005.

The "Sindhudurg Christian Segment" has been recently established. This Segment includes Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Kolhapur, the three populated regions of Maharashtra. The Mahaguru of this newly established Segment would be Father Alwyn Barretto and the rituals would be held on 5th October 2005. This segment has been established by Pope Benedict, the 16th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. In the Sindhudurg segment, 41 Religious preachers and 93 nuns are active. The number of Christians in this region has increased to 28,500.
