Taking on Congress on the issue of corruption and dynastic politics, Narendra Modi Thursday said the party has become a "burden" on India and Jawaharlal Nehru would have been saddened by the present condition of the children, whom he loved, and the nation.

Citing the multi-crore 2G and coal scams, Modi said Congress has done "PhD in corruption" and said not just the coal files but the whole government is missing in Delhi.

"Congress has become a burden on country for its corruption. They have given a new definition of A,B, C, D in corruption. A for Adarsh scam, B for Bofors scam, C for Coal scam and D for Damaad (son-in-law).

"There is corruption in flats meant for widows of Army personnel, Bofors gun and now they say coal files are missing," he said.

"It is not coal files but the whole government is missing in Delhi," Modi said at Kawardha, home town of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh.

He said Congress' corruption figures will not end "if someone starts writing them from former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi's house in Chhattisgarh to 10, Janpath," India's ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi's residence.

Speaking at a rally here ahead of November 19 Assembly election, he noted that it was the birth anniversary of the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru Thursday.

"Pandit Nehru would cry seeing the condition of children, whom he loved, and the country today. But he would not know whom to reproach as 'sab apne hi hain' (all those responsible for the situation are in the family)," the Gujarat Chief Minister said.

He slammed Congress for favouring "dynastic politics".

"(Someone's) wife is contesting election, son is contesting election and father is also trying to enter from various places," Modi said referring to Jogi and his family.

Jogi's son Amit Jogi is contesting from Marwahi constituency, whereas his wife Renu is in fray for polls from Kota constituency of Chhattisgarh.

"Congress does not see any thing beyond family. But BJP and Congress are different. Had Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh been in Congress, his son Abhishek would have been given ticket. But we have given ticket to another candidate. This is BJP," he said.
