Dhanbad (Jharkhand) : A religious fanatic Shahrukh burnt Ankita Singh, a 12 th grade student, to death in Dumaka, Jharkhand. In another incident, 23 year old Sahruddin Ansari raped an adivasi minor girl by in Narkopi, Ranchi. Hindu girls are being targeted repeatedly by a particular community. If no control is exercised on such incidents then the situation in Jharkhand may take a turn for the worse. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other like-minded organisations staged a ‘Hindu Rashtra Andolan’ in Randhir Chowk here to create awareness about this. Later Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad Sandeep Singh was handed over a memorandum comprising of certain demands.

Dr Neel Madhav Das of Tarun Hindu, Mr Ujjwal Bannerjee, Mr Nand Dulal Sengupta, Mr Deepak Mandal of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Mr Shambhu Gaware (coordinator of HJS – East and Northeast), Mr Amarjeet Prasad, Mr Deepak Kesari, Mr Samarpal Singh, devout Hindu Advocates Sudeep Gupta, Santosh Kumar, besides 60 other devout Hindus participated in this Andolan.

Demands raised in the Andolan

1. Ankita’s killer Shahrukh should be hanged to death and severe punishment to be handed down to the masterminds in this case.

2. The Government should pass an anti-love jihad law immediately to deter such incidents in future.

3. Sahruddin Ansari who raped an adivasi minor should be brought to trial in a fast track court and punished severely.
