#BanTablighiJamaat trends on Twitter as concerned citizens demand ban on Tablighi Jamaat

“If we compare Tablighi Jamaat congregation and if that had not taken place, our doubling rate is 4.1 days and had those cases not happened the doubling rate would be 7.4 days right now,” said joint secretary (health) Lav Agarwal. This is the fourth consecutive day the ministry has blamed the surge in cases on Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Banglewaali Masjid in Nizamuddin area.

Besides endangering public health through voluntary participation in a mass gathering, members of the Tablighi Jamaat had also been involved in several notorious activities across the country, such as behaving in an unruly manner with the facility staff and doctors, walking around the ward without their trousers on and making lewd gestures towards the nurses.

Reportedly, the construction of the entire building of Tablighi Jamaat HQ in Nizamuddin Markaz is reportedly illegal. Not even the property tax and house tax were being paid for the building. Members of Tablighi Jamaat in Pakistan and other countries have been found with links with dreaded terrorisist organisations like HUM, LeT, Al-Qaeda and JUM.

Many prominent organisations and personalities like Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, UP Waqf Minister Mohsin Raza and UP Waqf board chief Wasim Rizvi have demanded action against Tablighi Jamaat. Many concerned citizens in India took to Twitter to demand ban on Tablighi Jamaat in India with hashtag #BanTablighiJamaat and while writing this report, this trend is on 4th spot in top 10 national trends in India.
