#MinoritiesInDangerInPak becomes top trend as atrocities on Hindus in Pakistan continue

In last 2-3 days, a Hindu woman was abducted from wedding venue, forcibly converted to Islam in Hala, Pakistan. Around the same time, a Hindu temple was attacked in Pakistan’s Sindh and goddess’ statue was desecrated.

As we all know, minorities in Pakistan – Hindus, Sikhs and Christians – are always under attack from jihadis and fanatics with the help of police, administration and government. We all know that population of minorities in Pakistan in 1947 was around 23%, while the same has been reduced to mere 2-3% currently.

Even after continued persecution, no Human Rights bodies and intellectuals speak loudly against Pakistan, such as UN Human Rights Council.

To protest against atrocities on minorities in Pakistan and to appeal UN to take note of these human rights violations, Hindus took to Twitter and hashtag #MinoritiesInDangerInPak became national top trend in India on Twitter. It was on top for around 3 hours and remained in top 10 for some more time. @WakeUp_UNHRC was also one of the top national trends in India at the same time.

Here are some of the tweets from the trend :
