Press conference at Pune
Ganesh-devotees ! Please immerse Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water as per Dharmashastra !
Pune : Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been taking heinous decisions, one after another since last few years, like a self-proclaimed spiritual preceptor advising people for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols in artificial water tank; for donation of idols; for use of idols made of paper pulp and now, for of use ammonium carbonate for disintegration (not for immersion) of idols; but the basic problem is being skirted under such options. Has pollution of river stopped by doing all the above things? Has environment been protected? Has mixing sewage water without processing and messing up with river water for 365 days in a year has been stopped? Pune never faced deluge problem despite releasing 90000 cusecs water from dam every year for past few years but why is there flood-like situation created near river-banks in Pune after releasing only 45000 cusecs of water from dam nowadays? Has this condition been created due to immersion of Shri Ganesh idols ? These questions may be first answered by PMC administration and so-called progressive atheists and then let them talk about their opinion on immersion of Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water, stated Shri. Parag Gokhale, District Coordinator of Hindu Janajgruti Samiti (HJS) during press conference.
Pune-ites should not fall prey to misleading and unscientific drives promoted by PMC and atheists. Immerse Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water as per Dharmashastra instead of immersing them in artificial water tanks or disintegrating them with ammonium carbonate. Also, install Shri Ganesh idol made of clay and coloured using natural colours rather than idols made of paper pulp which causes high pollution, was the appeal made by Shri. Parag Gokhale, during press conference.
The press conference was attended by Shri. Vikas Bhise, an environmentalist, Shri. Mayuresh Argade from ‘Akhil Bharatiya Brahman Mahasangh’, Shri. Vijay Gawade of ‘Gargi Seva Foundation’, advocates Mohanrao Dongare, Nilesh Nidhalkar and Anil Visal and Sanatan Sanstha’s Professor Vitthal Jadhav among others.
