Representation submitted by HJS to BJP-MLA Raj Purohit and Shiv Sena MLA- Suresh Gore
Mumbai : Representation was submitted on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to BJP MLA- Shri. Raj Purohit and Shiv Sena MLA Shri. Suresh Gore for demand of passing of law banning conversion of religion and implementation of law related to clinical establishments. State Legislative Assembly’s session has been started from 17th June in Mumbai. Shri. Arvind Pansare, State spokesperson of HJS and its Shri. Ajay Sambhus called on MLAs of BJP and Shiv Sena.
It has been stated in the representation that,
1. Former Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari had recommended to Maharashtra Government, for passing of law imposing ban on conversion since incidents of conversions are increasing in the State. Such laws have already been passed by States like Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. No action has however, been taken on the recommendation since it was made in October 2014. More than 1 lakh Sindhis have recently been converted from Ulhasnagar in Thane district. Similar conversions are carried out at many places in the State and law is necessary to stop conversions.
2. Today, maximum retail price (MRP) has been fixed for sale of even a biscuit packet in this country but rates for medical treatment, which is a necessity, have not been fixed; leading to looting of patients everywhere. Union Government has passed Clinical Establishments Act in 2010 to prevent such loot and rights to implement the law were given to respective State Governments. In Maharashtra, however, this law has not been implemented; so it should be promptly implemented.
