Corruption in society should be stopped : Adv. Amrutesh NP, Vice President, HVP

Adv. Amrutesh NP

Bengaluru was known as the ‘Garbage City’, so the municipal corporation purchased a few acres of land to start a solid waste management plant. But the land purchase was coupled with a huge corruption scam. When the land was purchased, instead of negotiating prices per acre, payment was made per square foot. The price of land is significantly lower compared to buying it per square foot. As a result, the price of this land shot up from what should have been 15-20 lakhs to close to 200 crores. We submitted a petition in the court against this and obtained a stay. This is an example of how corruption has become institutionalised, and the urgent need to fight it legally.

While sharing about the other petitions Adv. Amrutesh NP said

1. Schools demand extra capitation fees or appoint teachers at will. We had submitted a petition to the education department to ensure that every private school should display a board with details of the curriculum, fees, names and qualifications of teachers. The court has directed all educational institutions to display such boards prominently.

2. In another case, we had submitted a petition regarding the death of elephants in a camp. The elephants in this camp were dying because they were not being fed appropriately not were they given enough exercise. We demanded that the elephants be provided adequate medical care, while also asking for a court enquiry into the matter.

Condemn Adv. Sanjiv Punalekar’s arrest !

I condemn the arrest of HVP National secretary Adv. Sanjiv Punalekar by the CBI. He should be released soon. I fell that his arrest comes just 2 days before the All India Convention for the Hindu Rashtra to prevent the delegates who attended the Advocates’ Convention from benefitting from his experience.

Adv. Amrutesh NP’s bhav towards Gurudev !

Adv. Amrutesh NP started his speech by saying ‘I offer my thoughts, inspiration, intellect, atma, everything, even my existence at the feet of the Guru. I bow down to the one who has no beginning nor end, the one who is responsible for the entire creation’.
