Sri Lanka ready for inquiry into accusation of massacre of 40,000 Tamil Hindus !

War with ‘LTTE’

Sri Lankan army killed 40,000 innocent Tamil Hindus. Hindus from Sri Lanka had raised the issue even earlier; but please note that neither India nor any political party from India opposed and tried to pressurize Sri Lanka by demanding inquiry!

Colombo (Sri Lanka) : Sri Lankan army had committed a breach of human rights during the war fought with ‘Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE)’ is the accusation made and Sri Lanka is ready to conduct an inquiry into the same. The war had ended after LTTE Chief Prabhakaran was killed in 2009. It is however, accused that during the last leg of this war, Sri Lankan army had killed 40,000 innocent Hindu Tamil citizens. The then Government had claimed that no citizen had died in the war.

Sri Lanka’s Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayak said during a press conference that

1. We are not afraid of any inquiry. We have not committed any crime. There is no need for conducting inquiry at international level. Our judicial system is competent enough to conduct such inquiry.

2. In any war, there is always the possibility of citizens getting killed. It is a bitter truth. War is not fought without such things. It, however, doesn’t mean that we have done such things. Demanding inquiry now is like digging out dead bodies. Moreover, attention should be paid to our good work done in last ten years.
