Instead of just allowing Army to give ‘reply’ to infiltration and terror, Govt should allow our armed forces to attack and eliminate sourc of these problems, i.e. Pakistan ! – Editor, Hindujagruti

New Delhi : The Indian Army will continue to take strong action to thwart terror and infiltration along the border with Pakistan, and give “a befitting reply” to all inimical activities by inflicting heavy losses, said Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday.

Without naming Pakistan, General Rawat said India’s neighbour along the western border was actively aiding and abetting terror outfits despite all the tall talk about peace. “We will continue to effectively deal with them,” he said, addressing the 71st Army Day parade.

As reported by TOI earlier, violence was particularly high along the line of control and in the hinterland in J&K in 2018, with security forces eliminating over 250 terrorists, while also exchanging heavy crossborder fire with the Pak Army which indulged in over 1,600 ceasefire violations.

General Rawat last week had said there has been no change in the ground situation as far as the Pak Army-ISI combine’s support to cross-border terrorist activities was concerned despite the Imran Khan government professing peace since it came to office last year.
