Babri razed in 17 minutes, how long does law on temple take : Shiv Sena

Ayodhya : Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Friday dared BJP to bring in an ordinance for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and challenged that if Babri Masjid could be brought down in “17 minutes”, why was BJP at the Centre not taking the ordinance route. Raut said that PM Narendra Modi “could do so if he so wanted”.

“Babri Masjid was demolished in 17 minutes… in less than half an hour what needed to be done Ram bhakts did. How long does it take to get an ordinance from the Rashtrapati Bhawan to UP assembly?” Raut told media in Ayodhya.

Raut said that for 25 years, BJP had sought votes in the name of Ram temple but despite a majority government at the Centre, “nothing had moved”. The temple issue had to be resolved before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he said .

“If demonetisation was implemented within 24 hours without consulting RBI, what’s the problem with making a law on Ram temple? If PM wants it, he can do it,” Raut said.
