Protest memorandum submitted by Hindus against TV anchor in Chennai

Shri. R. D. Prabhu of Bharath Hindu Munnani speaking to media

Hindu activists submitted memorandum to take action against Pudhiya Thalaimurai TV anchor, Karthikeyan for defaming Hindu Dharma and Hindu Deities on a regular basis in his TV shows. Bharath Hindu Munnani, Hindu Makkal Munnani and Hindu Sathya Sena jointly gave the memorandum to the Chennai Police Commissioner Office on 21 July 2018 at Vepery, Chennai.

In the memorandum it is written, ‘In the program ‘Pudhu pudhu arthangal’ which was telecast on 19.7.2018 by Pudhiya Thalaimurai TV channel, Shri. Karthikeyan, the anchor has hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus by insulting the Hindu Goddesses. He has commented very vulgarly that like ordinary women, the Goddesses also will leave the temple during their 3 days menstrual cycle. He had earlier denigrated during another TV show in 2015 by having a discussion on ‘Should the women need to wear the mangalsutra?’. Under the pretext of freedom of speech, he is denigrating Hindu Dharma and hurting the sentiments of Hindus from time to time. Such attitude cannot be tolerated. We urge the Police to take stringent action against Shri. Karthikeyan, the anchor for his derogatory talks.
