NIA to investigate Pak terrorist’s escape from Srinagar hospital

Jammu : A week after two unidentified gunmen ambushed a police team at a hospital in Srinagar, killing two cops and escaping with Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Naveed Jati alias Abu Hanzullah, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a case in the matter.

Sources said NIA members are expected to reach Srinagar on Tuesday to investigate the terrorist’s escape.

Naveed, the 22-year-old LeT terrorist from Multan in Pakistan, was responsible for the killing of several policemen in the valley. He was arrested from Shopian in 2014 and moved to Srinagar jail from Kathua two years ago. Security forces had recovered one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazine and sixty AK-47 rounds from him at the time of his arrest.
