Watching television is a type of addiction. Both, children as well as elders, are finding it difficult to get rid of it. Children, we have found some solutions to this problem, which can help you achieve your goals in life.
Develop hobbies like reading
Children, understand the ill effects of television and keep away from it. Do not fall prey to the ‘idiot box’; instead play outdoor games, exercise regularly, learn new skills and develop hobbies like reading. So children, in your spare time, find a good book to read, instead of reaching out to the television remote.

Watch only useful or educational programmes on television
Do not watch worthless programmes like movies or obscene dance shows. Watch serials like Ramayan, Mahabharat, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or movies based on the lives of Saints like Saint Tukaram, Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj or revolutionaries. Watch programmes on Discovery channel or National Geographic channel that develop patriotism or impart knowledge. However, these too should be watched only for a limited period of time.
