दु:खद : हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में सीडीएस जनरल बिपिन रावत समेत १२ अधिकारियों एवं सहयोगियों का निधन

देश के पहले चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ (सीडीएस) जनरल बिपिन रावत नहीं रहे। तमिलनाडु के कुन्नूर में आज हुए हेलिकॉप्टर हादसे में वे, उनकी पत्नी मधुलिका रावत और 11 अन्य अधिकारियों और सहयोगियों के साथ मौत हो गई। भारतीय वायुसेना ने सीडीएस जनरल बिपिन रावत, उनकी पत्नी और 11 अन्य लोगों की हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटना में मौत की पुष्टि की है। हादसे में वायुसेना के ग्रुप कैप्टन वरुण सिंह की ही जान बची है। उनका अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा है।

जनरल बिपिन रावत को ले जा रहा भारतीय वायुसेना का एक हेलिकॉप्टर बुधवार को तमिलनाडु के कुन्नूर के निकट दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया। आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने बताया कि यह हादसा कोहरे और खराब मौसम की वजह से वायुसेना का एमआई-17वीएच हेलीकॉप्टर दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हुआ। हादसे के कारण का पता लगाने के लिए ‘कोर्ट ऑफ इंक्वायरी’ के आदेश दिए गए हैं। हेलीकॉप्टर ने कोयंबटूर के पास सुलुर वायुसेना अड्डे से उड़ान भरी थी।

हेलिकॉप्टर के गिरते ही इसमें आग लग गई। टेलीविजन पर दिखाई जा रही फुटेज में, बुरी तरह से क्षतिग्रस्त हेलीकॉप्टर से आग की लपटें उठती दिखीं। दुर्घटनास्थल पर भारतीय वायुसेना के हेलिकॉप्टर के क्षतिग्रस्त और जले हुए टुकड़े बिखरे पड़े थे। स्थानीय प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों ने एक तमिल टीवी चैनल को बताया कि उन्होंने तेज आवाज सुनी, जाहिर तौर पर हादसे की आवाज थी, और बाद में हेलिकॉप्टर में आग लगी, जिसमें उसमें सवार लोग झुलस गए। आग में जल जाने की वजह से शवों की डीएनए जांच भी कराई जाएगी।

सीडीएस जनरल रावत वेलिंग्टन में ‘डिफेंस सर्विसेज कॉलेज’ (डीएससी) जा रहे थे। कुछ वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को लेकर हेलीकॉप्टर कोयंबटूर के सुलुर से वेलिंग्टन में डीएससी की ओर जा रहा था, जहां जनरल रावत, थल सेनाध्यक्ष एमएम नरवणे के साथ बाद में एक कार्यक्रम में भाग लेने वाले थे।
