A police inspector who had booked Rakesh, the elder son of chief minister Siddaramaiah, on a charge of attempt to murder in a poll-related incident on May 3, has now been suspended from service

Following the arrest, the Mumbai Police Commissioner AN Roy sacked Senior Police Inspector Aslam Momin. Roy claimed that wiretapping had revealed that Momin had links with Ibrahim and his two brothers.
