Mumbai: concepts presented by the experts were strongly opposed by members of Shiv Sena as their suggestions were against the religious sentiments of Hindus.

Thane (Maharashtra): Immersion of Sree Ganesha idols took place with ususal pomp and revelry. Hindu Janajgruti Samiti (HJS) and Sanatan Sanstha used this opportunity for 'Dharma-prasar'.
Jalgaon (Maharashtra): In Chinaval village in Jalgaon district, Sree Ganesha immersion procession passing by a mosque used to create problem since past few years and there used to be tension in the area.
Satara (Maharashtra): Members of Hindu organizations lodged a complaint with Shri. Vikas Deshmukh, the District Collector that some of Sree Ganesha idols immersed in artificial water tanks.
Pune (Maharashtra): Members of HJS had gone from door to door, distributing handbills signed by eminent personalities asserting that immersion of idols does not cause pollution. There was very good response received from Ganesh-devotees to the appeal.
Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Representations were submitted by Hindu organizations to the municipality and police for prohibiting ANS and similar organizations from carrying out their 'Idol-donation' drive. Meetings of the concerned parties were conducted at the police stations.
Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Shri. V. L. Korde, the Zonal Officer of the Board has now clarified that such appeal was made inadvertently and no pollution is caused due to immersion of idols in water.
