Arrogant reply to HJS protest of Hussain's Dubai exhibition

Dubai: The anti-Hindu Painter M.F. Hussain's painting show is organized at 1x1 Art Space Dubai on 28th Feb 2007.This show is to run through till 28th March. When representatives of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) visited the Exhibition Hall of 1 x 1 art space where Hussain's paintings are displayed, they found three paintings were derogatory. One of them was mother India, second one Durga Devi with tiger (this was named differently) and third one was of Gandhi without head. When they approached Ms. Ambica Vohra who is a co-partner of this gallery, she bluntly refused to stop the show and made the following remarks.
1. I know Mr. Hussain personally for the last 16 years and he is a very nice gentleman. 2. It is your personal view about him and his painting, but we don't find it offensive. 3. I am more religious than you and my God is within me and I don not require to have faith in what someone depicts. 4. When they told her that many Indians are against this, she said get all of them here and we will see. 5. She further said that he is 93 years old, so leave him alone. 6. When they also told her that by helping in selling these paintings you are supporting a criminal, she said again that is your view and please keep it with you. 7. They had taken the derogatory paintings of Husain to show her, but she refused to keep it with her. 8. She was hesitant to give them the contact of the Director who is also Indian but she was enquiring about their contact numbers. 9. Then she started saying that she wanted to close the gallery as girls here were working since morning. 10. There was a different nationality girl who was very supportive and accepted their views. 11. Ms. Ambica also said that Husain is honoured by Cultural Ministry of Dubai.
Finally the HJS representatives requested the card of Malini Gulrajani (who is senior to Ambica), and when they tried to contact her after returning from the gallery, the mobile was switched off.

(There is such arrogance against Hindus because Hindus are not united and do not have pride for their religion. Would they dare to reply in such manner in case against the Muslims? Hindus wake up and now and protest the display of denigrating paintings by the gallery. - Editor)

I strongly condem these paintings esp. about deities pictures, are dipicted in very insulting and shamful manner. hence feel that all hindues who really has a respect and pride for their nation should come togather and try to prohibit such happenings

MF Hussain u have done great job.People who are not united should be given only such treatment. Anyways i will catch u someday and after that no person will dare to paint such things.

Tell that 93 year old xxxxxxx to come to *India, I will kill him personally. After that NOBODY dare do such a thing. Better option I will FORCE him to do nude paintings of prophet mohammed

M.F. Hussain is a hyppocrite and is only interested in remaining in the limelight by creating controversies. In my opinion he is a third grade painter and definitely not an artist. I condemn his anti Hindu activities.

Tragedy with us Hindus are that there are quite a few quisling among us.
However , this painter Hussain , if he has the guts and not a Islamist , needs to paint something similar for his own religion.
This guy should not be allowed in India and be branded as an enemy .

The pride of being Hindu (not just Indian) must be inculcated within every child by his/her parents. This does not necessarily mean demeaning other faiths - it's just extolling the greatness of Hinduism. Ours is the only religion which is over 9000 years old and based on live and let live policy; something which is an alien concept for other religions. Unfortunately, our tolerance has been viewed as cowardice (which is true, to an extent) and we are paying a huge price for this. We must sink all our differences, bring back the Dalits back to our fold (by throwing open the doors of all temples to them - Tirumala Devasthanam las since led the way) and inject Hindu pride in all of us.

As said by this lady "Ms. Ambica Vohra " is your view and please keep it with you". Please do not moderate let it come out it is their views which have been suppressed for centuries. Its the lava which is coming out let it flow freely. Our elders have made us sick with sickularism and let's not commit this mistake. M. F.Hussain is a sick xxxxxxx . He should be dealt with sooner or later.
Just a little while ago I came across this website and was glad to know that there is some little awakening among Hindus at last, after decades of stagnation. First and foremost I must say, that I have seen 10 years old children paint better than Husain, so he is not a great artist as he is made out to be. It is the media and the circle of people he ascociate with who has put him where he is to-day, not because of his painting. Now I do understand the feelings of some of the comments here who would like to kill him, I say then are we any better than Muslims who kill any one who say any thing against Islam. I am against killing him ,I would say never let him come back to India, ever.

United we stand devided we fall, which is true. Hindus must unite, I say that sounds wrong, and I say Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhist, Janis Must unite if we the Indians have to survive, the onslaught of Islam and Christianity. Parag Gegate, had hit the nail on the head, until we don't bring the Dalits back to our fold of Hinduism and treat them equal, you will never have a unity. I can hardly see that happening, can you? Being a Muslim, I must not do any work which hurts other people or religion.
I have seen lot of paintings of Mr. Hussain and I do find some of them hurting even as Indian I feel we must respect our mother country.
