Afzal Case: HJS submits an appeal to President signed by 18,000+ Indians
October 15, 2006
Mumbai: An Online signature campaign has been started by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on its website http://www.hindujagruti.org/ in support of the death sentence granted to terrorist Mohammad Afzal for attack on Parliament. Under this campaign, an appeal signed by 18,779 proud Indians was sent by registered post to President Dr. Abdul J. Kalaam on 10th October. Similar appeal was also handed over to Major Sandeep Kumar, the Private Secretary who accepted it on behalf of Dr. S.M. Krushna, the Governor of Maharashtra. Apart for this emails are being sent to President and Prime Minister through online drive.
We will be sending second lot of signatures soon. We appeal all Indians to participate in this drive and show support for execution of terrorist. says HJS Spokesperson Shri. Ramesh Shinde.
It has been mentioned in the appeal that it is a unanimous demand of all nationalist Indians that terrorist Mohammad Afzal should be hanged without showing him mercy. If the mastermind behind the terrorist attack on Parliament is granted amnesty, it would be an insult of not only the whole nation but especially of the family members of those security men who died in the attack. Grant of amnesty to him will encourage terrorists to attack this country in future and demoralize our forces who sacrifice their lives for protection of this country. The President should therefore, do justice, is the demand made in this appeal. The Governor has been requested to make a recommendation to the President for confirming death sentence of terrorist, Mohammad Afzal.
